Benefits of Joining the CBACC

We appreciate your interest in the Cobscook Bay Area Chamber. The Cobscook Bay Area Chamber is an organization dedicated to promoting an increasingly effective business climate that sustains our members, promotes natural resources and our natural environment.

The Chamber’s membership area includes the Maine communities of Calais, Princeton, Eastport, Sipayik, Perry, Pembroke, Dennysville, Edmunds, Whiting, Trescott, Lubec, E. Machias, Machias, Machiasport, Cherryfield, and Campobello Island, NB, Canada.

Of our 80 members, roughly 80% of our members are primarily dependent on, or are impacted positively by, tourism. During the CBACC six-year existence, the Chamber has been focused on promoting the area and its members.

Some of the benefits your business will receive includes:

  • Website that highlights our area and provides a links to your business website including contact information.

  • Each year the chamber produces a new colorful brochure.

  • Chamber members can place brochures at the information kiosks in Whiting and Perry at no extra cost.

  • The Chamber profiles our members in "Business Profiles" placed in the Lubec Light and The Quoddy Tides at no extra cost.

  • The Chamber belongs to the Maine State Chamber’s Alliance of Maine Chambers and the Maine Tourism Association.

  • The Chamber advertises, or has advertised, in several other publications, such as the Ellsworth Chamber’s summer guide, Discover Maine, Memories of Maine magazines, in the Maine Sunshine Travel Maine Guide to Washington County, and a Chamber advertisement on the Maine Tourism Association’s official Maine Highway Map.

  • The Chamber organizes the Down East Spring Birding Festival over Memorial Day Weekend that brings some 80 bird watchers here and results in a direct economic benefit of $30-40,000 to the area.   • We are actively involved in the promotional efforts of the DownEast & Acadia Regional Tourism Committee (DART).

  • We offer members cooperative advertising opportunities in the Hinson Guide - Maine's Washington County: Just Off The Beaten Path.

  • The Chamber is a sponsor of the Washington County Business Conference and Marketplace.
